The Festival of the Lakes

Poetry and Performance in Saranac Lake, New York
June 27-June 29th

Saranac Lake, seat of the north country, beautiful Adirondack vistas, and a place once used for cure and regeneration, hosts this festival which includes poets, art, artists and music. I read on Saturday, June 28th in the Blue Moon Café at 4 p.m. with Alan Steinburg.
The weekend kicked off on Friday at 3 p.m. with renowned poet and editor, Maurice Kenny at the Blue Moon Café.

PaperWorks, my paper and papier mache vessels, bowls, forms, objects, baskets debuted at this event featuring many other craft artists in many disciplines, music, food, entertainment, and children's events in one of America's best art towns.

Chautauqua Institute

I read, spoke, and conducted a poetry workshop on Writing Poetry as Mythmaking at the Chautauqua Institute in August. The Chautuaqua Institute-- a culture town with a summer season dedicated to the arts and the mind is a creator's Brigadoon. I am poet in residence for the eighth week: August 10-15.
I read from my work on Sunday at 3:30 in The Garden Room, Alumni Hall.
My speech,"Jazz and Poetry: Function at the Junction,"was presented on Friday at 12:15 at the Chautauqua Writers' Center
