nine one one
Tuesday, i awoke to horror and spent the day in tears
suicidal assassins had lived among us
for more than a year
undetected, undeterred.
yesterday's anger and shock are gone.
Family, all accounted for, have been in touch.
missing friends, unreachable, have reappeared.
i have so few, they mean so terribly much.
my heart is so very grateful.
yet pain prevails, yet fear
how do we heal
such an unimaginable world?
